1987년 Southern Wesleyan 대학교에서 종교학을 공부하고, 1990년 Asbury 신학교에서 (명예) 신학 석사, 1993년 Kentucky 대학교에서 고전어문학 석사학위를 받았다. 1996년 영국 Durham 대학교에서 신학(신약성경) 박사학위를 받았으며, 현재 미국 Indiana Wesleyan 대학교 종교학 교수로 있다. 지은 책으로 『Understanding the Book of Hebrew: The Story Behind the Sermon』, 『Jesus is Lord: An Introduction to the New Testament』, 『1&2 Corinthians: A Commentary for Bible Students』, 『A Brief Guide to Biblical Interpretation』, 『Cosmology and Eschatology in Hebrews: The Settings of the Sacrifice』등이 있다.
