연세대학교 공과대학 기계설계공학과를 졸업하고, University of Michigan에서 Industrial&Operation Engineering 석사 및 박사학위를 받았다. Florida International University 조교수를 거쳐, 현재는 연세대학교 경영대학 조교수로 재직 중이다. 저술로는 『Optimal Vehicle Routing with Real-Time Traffic Information』(2005), 『A Stochastic Mathematical Appointment Overbooking Model for Healthcare Providers to Improve Profits』(2006), 『경영과학』(공역, 2007) 등이 있다.
