철학박사이자 포츠머스의 주교로 봉직하였다. 왕립역사학회(Royal Historical Society) 회원이었으며 저서로는 Worship: Wonderful and Sacred Mystery(1992), The Mystery of Baptism in the Anglican Tradition(1998), The Lord’s Prayer: A Text in Tradition and Rooted in Detachment: Living the Transfiguration(2004) 등이 있다.
