뉴인터내셔널리스트의 공동 편집자로 일했으며 현재 국제 연합 자문 위원으로 있다. 1994년과 2000년에 국제 노동 기구에서 이주에 관한 두 권의 책 『The work of strangers: A survey of international labour migration』과 『Workers without frontiers: The impact of globalization on international migration』를 펴냈다.
