서울대학교 자연과학대학 계산통계학과 학사, 서울대학교 대학원 통계학 석사, 미국 University of Wisconsin-Madison 통계학 박사 과정을 졸업하였으며 미국 North Carolina State Univeristy 연구원을 역임했다. 현재 숭실대학교 자연과학대학 정보통계보험수리학과 교수이다.
