미국의 저널리스트이자 작가로, 『아메리칸 프로스펙트』의 공동 설립자이자 공동 편집인이다. 또한 경제정책연구소(Economic Policy Institute)의 설립자로, 그곳의 집행위원회에서도 일한다. 『비즈니스위크』, 『워싱턴포스트』, 『보스턴글로브』의 칼럼리스트로 일했다. 미국 브랜다이스대학교 사회정책 초빙교수이기도 하다.
