Centre College of Kentucky(B.A.)와 Princeton Theological Seminary(B.D.)를 졸업하고 University of Neuchatel, Switzerland에서 신학박사(Th.D.) 학위를 취득하였다. 前 프린스턴신학연구소 교수였으며 지금은 Erskine's Institute For Reformed Worship Education 교수로 재직 중이다.
