리처드 S. 헤스 박사는 Wheaton College(B.A.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School(M.Div., Th.M.), Hebrew Union College(Ph.D.)를 졸업하고 Denver Seminary에서 구약학 교수로 섬기고 있다.
『이스라엘의 종교』(Israelite Religions: A Biblical and Archaeological Survey, CLC 刊, 2009) 외 Amarna Personal Names and Names in the Study of Biblical History(2017), The Old Testament: A Historical, Theological, and Critical Introduction(2016), Studies in the Personal Names of Genesis 1-11(2009) 등의 책을 저술하였다.
