성균관대학교 트랜스미디어연구소 연구교수다. 연세대학교 화학공학과를 중퇴한 후 한국예술종합학교 영상원 영상이론과를 졸업하고, 한국과학기술원 지식서비스공학대학원에서 박사학위를 받았다. 인문학, 예술, 과학기술이 통섭되는 이야기라는 플랫폼에 관심을 두고 연구와 강의를 하고 있다. 논문으로는 “A Computational Model to Detect Affective Response Based on Narrative Agent’s Knowledge”(2020), “An improved method of character network analysis for literary criticism: A case study of ”(2017), “An information?theoretic evaluation of narrative complexity for interactive writing support” (2016), “독자의 이해도를 고려한 내러티브 창작 지원 시스템 설계”(2014) 등이 있다.
