서울대학교 아동가족학과에서 학사, 석사학위를 받고 미국 위스콘신매디슨대학교(University of Wisconsin?Madison)에서 교육과정 전공으로 박사과정을 마쳤다. 공정한 교육, 재개념론적 관점에서 본 유아교육과정에 많은 관심을 갖고 있으며 현재 주 연구 분야는 교사교육, 문화감응교육, 놀이, 유아수학교육이다. 주요 논문으로는 「학교 시민 양성하기: 유아교사의 학교준비도 신념과 문화감응 교수 실천 사례연구(Preparing "good little school citizens": One public prekindergarten teacher’s readiness beliefs and imple?mentation of responsive mathematics practices)」(2021), 「유아 공교육의 미래 상상하기(Imagining a future in pre K: How professional identity shapes notions of early mathematics)」(공저, 2015) 등이 있다.
