정치학과 국제 관계학을 전공했으며, 특히 동아시아의 국제 문제와 지역 협력에 중점을 두고 있다. 현재 연구 과제는 동아시아의 중일 경쟁과 환경 문제이다.　최근 저서로 “Resilience among Fluctuations: Japan and South Korea’s Security　Strategies toward China Revisited”(2021), “What Makes Good Trilateralism?:　Theorising the Utilities of Trilateralism in East Asia”(2020), “The China?Japan?Korea Trilateral Free Trade Agreement: Why Did Trade Negotiations　Stall?”(2019) 등이 있다.
