가르멜회 사제로 교황청립 성서대학(성서학 박사)에서 수학했다. 현재 교황청립 성서대학 교수이자 고대근동학과 학과장으로서 시리아어, 아람어, 타르굼어를 비롯한 수업을 여럿 진행하고 있다. 저서로 『The Character of the Syriac Version of the First Book of Samuel』(2001), 『Reflections on Lexicography: Explorations in Ancient Syriac, Hebrew, and Greek Sources』(공저, 2014), 『The Syriac Peshi?a Bible with English Translation: Genesis』(공저, 2019) 등이 있다.
