정현은 홍익대학교에서 목조형 가구 디자인을 전공하고, 코넬 대학교에서 건축학으로 석사 학위를 받았다. 서울시립대학교 건축학부 겸임 교수를 역임하며, 건축과 교육, 그리고 출판과 전시를 아우르는 프로젝트 초타원형(SUPERELLIPSE)을 설립했다. 미술가, 사진가, 음악가, 게임 제작자, 그래픽/제품 디자이너와 함께 협업하며 다양한 분야를 넘나들며 새로운 시도를 모색한다.
