그녀는 서울대학교 의과대학을 졸업하고 1986년 병리학자가 되었다. 그녀는 울산대학교 의과대학 서울아산병원 병리학과 교수로 30년간 재직하다가 명예교수로 정년 퇴임했다. 25년 전인 2006년 한글 창제원리를 배우고 2006년 출판사 허원미디어를 통해 첫 저서 '한글, 자연의 소리를 담는 글자'를 출간했다. 서울 인왕산 기슭 옥인동에 위치한 '북성재'에서 다양한 인문학 강의가 열릴 수 있도록 뒷바라지하고 있다.

She graduated from Seoul National University School of Medicine and became a pathologist in 1986. She served as a professor of pathology at University of Ulsan College of Medicine Asan Medical Center in Korea for 30 years before retiring as a Professor Emerita. Twenty five years prior, she learned the creation principles of Hangeul and published her first book, ≪Hangeul, A Letter for the Sound of Nature≫, through the publisher, Herwonmedia in 2006. Since then, she has given various public lectures on the humanities, including Hangeul at ‘Bookseongjae’ located in Ogin-dong at the foot of Inwang Mountain in Seoul, Korea.
