“역사를 알면 사람을 사랑하게 되고 세상을 이해하게 된다는 생각으로 글을 씁니다. 어릴 때는 책 읽기와 공상하기, 이 두 가지에 빠져 지냈고 어른이 되어서는 역사책 쓰기에 전념하고 있습니다.”
1960년 서울에서 태어나 고려대학교 사학과를 졸업하고 같은 대학원에서 한국사를 공부했다. 1990년대 초부터 교양역사책 집필을 계속하며 다양한 역사책 들을 출간하고 있다. 지은 책으로 『엄마의 역사 편지 1,2』『박은봉 이광희 선생님의 한국사 상식 바로잡기 1』『한국사 100장면』『세계사 100장면』『한국사 상식 바로잡기』『한국사 뒷이야기』『세계사 뒷이야기』『인물 여성사 한국편(공저)』『박은봉·이광희 선생님의 한국사 상식 바로잡기 1, 2』(공저) 등이 있다.
