On July 15, 1944, she wrote, "I think it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end.... In the meantime I must uphold my ideals, for perhaps the time will come when I shall be able to carry them out!"

Then on the morning of August 4, 1944, she and her family and friends (8 people) were caught by Nazi police at the Secret Annex.

They all ended up in a concentration camp in Poland. The world war II was over in August 1945. Of the eight people in the Annex, only Otto Frank, Anne Frank' father, survived the war.
