Judy Blume은 천재가 아닐까? ^^

Fudge 시리즈의 첫 두 권 읽고 다른 책들을 좀 보다가 다시 집어든 Fudge 이야기 마지막 편! 아..... 너무 재미있다 ㅜ.ㅜ

Double Fudge는 총 5권으로 된 Fudge 시리즈의 마지막 편이다. 원래 아이디어가 고갈되었다가... 우연히 생각난 아이디어를 가지고... Fudge 이야기를 매우 좋아하는 작가의 손자 Eliot을 위해 썼다고 한다.

뒷표지에 나오는 Booklist의 리뷰가 이 책을 가장 잘 표현해 주는 것 같아 여기에 옮겨본다. (나도 정말 공감!!)

As usual, Blume's humor and pitch-perfect ear for sibling rivalry and family dynamics will have readers giggling with recognition. New comers and Fudge fans alike will savor this installment in well-loved series.

Fudge is so obsessed with money he wants his name to be Mr. Money and he even has a friend named Richie Richest! To make Fudge understand about money Fudge’s parents take Fudge and Peter (Fudge’s older brother) to  where money is printed, when Peter run into their long-lost relatives. But his uncle is crazy about bad things for there health or study, his twin cousins are just plain crazy, and his cousin is a trouble maker just like Fudge. This book might sound weird to a person who doesn’t have a baby brother who's six years younger than you. I have a baby brother almost six years younger than me so I can understand Peter’s feelings. But I don’t have relatives who are… I don’t even know what to say. Maybe “in the fourth dimension” might be right. If you want to read a story of a crazy little boy that makes chaos I suggest reading this book.
