I have not known the author Peggy Noonan, though you can see her picture in the back of the book.
I chose this book because I like the book 'on writing well'. Yes, a very simple reason to choose this book.
Now that I have finished reading this book, I have the following lessons: * Noonan is a republican to the bone. I do not care which party she chose, but I simply did not like the tone of her implying that most republican presidents have done well in speech (including the life) and the most democrat presidents are losers. * This book is poorly organized. It does not have the contents section, which makes it difficult to find any chapter. In fact, the order of the chapters does seem to be organized as well. I think the author needs to read more on how to organize a book. * I am not an American, but I do remember the so-famous speech given by President Reagon on the Challenger accident. And I am very surprised to know that the writer of the speech was Noonan. Sadly, this is the only part that I can value this book.
There are many good books to read if you want to speak well. This is not the one.
