A short tale that is provocative although more like a bit of folklore dressed up in a fancier gown, it is nonetheless a good read. I am very fond of Melissa Marr's work although this doesn't compare to her other books. It's a quick read and enjoyable. There are hints of violence and only sexual suggestions in the tale, but it's not anything to worry about. |

저렴한 가격에 짧은 스토리의 영문소설을 읽고 싶어서 Maiden Thief를 구입했다. Maiden Thief 는 Melissa Marr의 다크 판타지소설이다. 주인공인 Verena는 매년 마을에 찾아와서 젋은 여성을 납치하는 연쇠살인범을 두려워 하면서도 연쇠살인범을 잡으려 들지 않는 마을사람들에 답답해한다. 마을사람들을 행동하게 하려 왜 연쇠살인범을 잡기를 호소하는 글을 쓴다. 하지만 그 역효과로 Verena와 그녀의 언니들이 살인범의 표적이 된다. 마치 빨강망토와 같은 옛이야기 책을 읽는 기분이었다. 기대보다 잘 짜여진 스토리에 재미있게 읽을 수 있었다. |
