책내용은 불교의 가르침에 대한 짧은 문장이 계속 나열되어 있는데

딱히 종교적인 색채가 나지는 않는다는 느낌이 들었다.

불교란 게 원래 그런 건가?

Good men melt with compassion even for one who has wrought them harm.

대부분 위와 같은 한 줄 짜리의 문장이지만 4줄 짜리 문장 하나 소개해본다.
