Q: What is creativity? A: The relationship between a human being and the mysteries of inspiration. 누구나 다 두려움이 있다. 시작하기 너무 늦었다고 혹은 시작하기 너무 이르다고 생각할 수도 있다. 작가는 모든 것이 다 두렵지만, 그것을 인지하고 자기 안에 숨겨져있는 보석을 갈고 닦아야 한다고 한다. 두려움은 항상 수반되고 그 안에서 자기 자신과 창조성을 찾아야하는것. Look, I don’t know what’s hidden within you. I have no way of knowing such a thing. You yourself may barely know, although I suspect you’ve caught glimpse. I don’t know your capacities, your aspirations, your longings, your secret talents. But surely something wonderful is sheltered inside you. I say this with all confidence, because I happen to believe we are all walking repositories of buried treasure. I believe this is one of the oldest and most generous tricks the universe plays on us human beings, both for its own amusement and for ours: The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them. The hunt to uncover those jewels- that’s creative living. The courage to go on that hunt in the first place- that’s what separates a mundane existence from a more enchanted one. The often surprising results of that hunt- that’s what I call Big Magic. |
