 어디선가 추천도서여서 한권만 사보았다. 역사 관련 책들인 것 같다. 첫 권은 중세 아더왕 시대의 이야기여서 중세 영어도 조금이나마 맛볼 수 있다. 1권이어서 흥미도가 떨어진다. 모든 시리즈 책은 1권에서는 흥미도가 떨어지니 계속 읽어야 제대로 된 평가가 가능한다. 

휘리릭 줄거리

- 3명의 소년이 생일파티 도중에 중세시대로 가게 된다. 파티주인공의 마술사 삼촌이 준 책을 열어보고 나서이다. 그들은 아서왕 시대로 가게되고 아서왕의 적인 기사 한명을 무찌르고 원탁의 기사들과 함께 성으로 간다. 이상한 옷차림과 말투로 마법사들로 오해를 받은 세 소년. 그 때 큰 거인과 용이 성을 공격한다는 보고가 들어온다. 소년은 꾀를 써 거인과 용이 서로 싸워 죽이게 한다. 아서왕은 그들에게 원탁의 기사 칭호를 내린다. 그들은 삼촌이 준 책과 비슷한 책, 어쩌면 같을지도 모르는 그 책을 이용해 다시 현대로 돌아온다.

- We stood on one side of the castle moat with King Arthur, Merlin, and the Kinights of the Round Table. Bleob stood on the other. He was a terrifying sight. And an even more terrifying smell.

- He and Fred had already clamped their noses with Sam's homemade clothespins.

- Merlin gave us the hurry-up eye.

- Fred and I clapped Sam on the back. We were just about to go razz Merlin when we heard the awful sound. It was another bone-rattling, teeth-chattering, giant...burp.
