Normally I'm not a fan of non-fiction, but this book was an exception. It was interesting to learn how a Chinese mother raises her children to be so successful.

In this book Amy Chua has a strong opinion on Western and Eastern parents. She believes that if parents do not push their children to their limit, they will not be happy in the future. A Chinese mother has many rules, and is strict with their children. I remember when I attended a Chinese class with other Chinese students. The students were so competitive and always getting the highest scores. I know these 'tiger mothers' do it for their children's happiness in the future, but I felt that these ways were much too extreme. There are many people that are as great that weren't raised in the Chinese way.

Overall this book was a great read, as I got to learn how Chinese parent's teaching methods, and the pain behind it. I don't necessarily agree with Chua, but I respect her opinion and teaching,
