| I'm not crazy about hockey, so I found this a little tedious and repetitive until I realized Backman was using a style of writing that was almost poetic. It included ritual and chant and other repeating elements to establish a rhythm that kept me reading. The characters were more complete and a trifle darker and more grown up than those in his other works. I might just read again to make sure I didn't miss anything. |
