I get to notice that I've missed out lots of things or have been doing automatically without giving any thoughts about gift, carbon tax, insurance, skybox, commercials, naming public places and so on.

Michael gets us to think about those things from both of the perspectives of economics and ethics.

Well, it seems to me that most of us do not consider about the ethic or morality in the commercialisation of nearly everything. We are apt to take those things unconsciously, taking for granted commertialization would be inevitable as a part of life change.

Before too late, however, we will have to give a thought to the commercialisation because 'commercialism erodes commonality(p202)'. 

The questions that Michael put up are as follows:

"Do you think it's okay to put more fee to cut line to get on an airplane or get in an amusement park?"

"Do you think it's allowable to trade a life insurance?"

"Do you also think it's acceptable to name a public school as a sponsoring company or to show its commercials to students for its sponsorship?"

On top of those, have you thought about 'what the difference between an fine and a fee is?' Interesting, isn't it?

We emphasise the importance of communication, which could mean we lack of good communication these days. In particular, in this period of presidential election.

'Birds of a feather flock together", as the saying goes, people with similiar wealth gather together and try to barricade their castle from others. It's not only because of their poor personality but also because of the social and economic systems that are segregating classes by their welath and status.

That should be the root of the emergence of the democratic economy that we are really hoping to have for the next five years.

In a nutshell, the main point of the book would be contracted as this sentence: 'The more things money can buy, the fewer the occasions when people from different walks of life encounter one another.(p.202)'
