런던 유니버시티칼리지(UCL) 교수. 스웨덴 웁살라대학과 핀란드 헬싱키대학에서 북유럽 현대사와 노르딕 모델에 관해 연구했으며, 유럽 사회경제사와 노동사를 가르치고 있다. 지은 책으로 Political Change and the Rise of Labour in Comparative Perspective: Britain and Sweden 1890~1920(Nordic Academic Press, 2006)가 있고, Encyclopedia of Contemporary Scandinavian culture(Routledge, 2005)를 편집했다.
