한국외교사와 개념사를 전공했다. (탈)식민주의 국제정치이론과 한반도 젠더 정치로 연구 영역을 넓혀가고 있다. 「한일 위안부 외교의 역사와 쟁점」(2021), 「Representation of Diasporic Memories and Possibilities for Post?Cold War History」(2021), 『반역의 정치학: 대한제국기 혁명의 개념사』(2020), 「Comfort Women of the Empire and the Politics of Memory」(2019), 『사행의 국제정치: 16~19세기 조천·연행록 분석』(2016) 등의 책과 논문을 발표했다.
