시카고대학교에서 박사학위를 받았고, 말레이시아과학대학교, 북일리노이대학교, 휘튼칼리지(일리노이)에서 교수로 재직했다. 『당신은 워킹맘이 되어야 할까?(Should You Be The Working Mom?)』(David C. Cook, 1987), 『국제 교육 백과사전: 증보판 2권에서의 “인종할당제”(“Affirmative Action,” in The International Encyclopedia of Education: Supplementary Volume Two)』(Oxford: Pergamon, 1990) 등을 비롯해 여러 논문의 저자이다.
