뉴욕시에서 정신분석학자, 심리치료사, 임상 컨설턴트로 활동하고 있으며, 국립정신치료연구소(National Institute for the Psychotherapies)의 이사, 감독 그리고 교수로 섬기고 있다. 또한 뉴욕대학교 정신치료 및 정신분석 박사후 프로그램의 교수 및 스티븐 미첼 관계연구센터(the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center)의 교수 및 집행위원, 그리고 필라델피아 관계정신분석연구소(Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia)와 뉴욕시에 위치한 표현분석연구소(the Institute for Expressive Analysis)와 현대정신치료연구소(Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy)의 교수이다. 이와 더불어 『Psychoanalytic Perspectives: An International Journal of Integration and Innovation』의 선임 컨설팅 편집자이자 Routledge의 관계적 관점 책 시리즈의 공동 편집자이다.
