호주 애들레이드 대교구 소속의 몬시뇰 사제이자 신학자이다. 교황청 국제신학위원회(International Theological Commission) 자문 역할과 교황청 산하 생명학술원(Pontifical Academy for Life) 활동을 역임했으며, 2019년 선종할 당시 호주가톨릭대학교 애들레이드캠퍼스 신학 분야 교수급 연구원이었다.
그는 생태위기의 시대에 있어서 그리스도교 신앙의 의미를 탐구한 다수의 저서를 집필했으며, 대표작으로는 『신앙의 중심에 있는 생태 환경』(Ecology at the Heart of Faith, 도서출판 작음, 2024), 『Breath of Life: A Theology of the Creator Spirit』, 『Christian Understandings of Creation: The Historical Trajectory』, 『Partaking of God: Trinity, Evolution, and Ecology』 등이 있다.
