저자 소개

Henry James (1843?1916) was an American-born novelist and literary critic, renowned for his intricate psychological insights and elegant prose. Born in New York City, he spent much of his life moving between the United States and Europe, gaining a multicultural perspective that greatly influenced his works. His writings often explored human relationships and societal contexts, with a particular focus on the cultural contrasts between America and Europe.
James's notable works include The Portrait of a Lady and The Turn of the Screw, which delve into complex characters and moral dilemmas. He is regarded as a bridge between realism and modern literature, with his narratives known for their subtlety and depth, engaging readers both emotionally and intellectually.
In 1915, James became a British citizen and spent his final years in London, passing away in 1916.
