<p>Psalms 1-41, traditionally known as Book 1 of the Psalter, presents a rich and deeply personal portrait of a believer's relationship with God through seasons of worship, obedience, suffering, repentance, trust, and deliverance. These chapters are primarily attributed to David and reveal both the heights of faith and the depths of human struggle, demonstrating that genuine faith does not ignore pain but brings every circumstance before the Lord. The collection begins with Psalm 1, which contrasts the righteous and the wicked, establishing the foundational truth that true blessing comes from delighting in and obeying God's Word. Throughout these psalms, God is consistently portrayed as a righteous Judge, faithful Shepherd, sovereign King, refuge for the oppressed, defender of the innocent, and merciful Savior of those who call upon Him. Many of the psalms contain cries for help during times of persecution, betrayal, sickness, and distress, yet they repeatedly affirm confidence in God's unfailing covenant love and faithfulness.
