The UU Timeline is a short story about almost eight years of trying to bring an idea I believe is important to life.UU started from a vision I had almost two decades ago and became a serious project in 2018. Since then, there have been different paths, changes, setbacks, funding attempts, and many moments when I thought about letting it go.The longer I worked on it, the more it seemed that, to really thrive and bring an important idea into the world, you need the right ecosystem around you. Otherwise, how do you proceed? How do you build something when you have no support backing you up?This has been an underlying question of mine throughout most of these past years, as I tried to find the right partner and the right way to build this.Meanwhile, in my personal life, this resulted in circumstances where, the longer I kept going, the more difficult it became to manage the reverberating effects of my decision to continue without taking or accepting funding - sometimes because doing so could have required premature disclosure of our project's IP.This is that story.And the only reason I am sharing it now is because the project that has been behind it all these years, hidden and protected, can finally be released within a very short period of time to benefit everyone who is active across the internet and within the digital ecosystem.After all these years, I realized that the best way forward is simple: I just want to build this and release it for the people.So, what does UU do? What Uniting Users is about?At its core, it is a simple idea: to enable a distinction between human-origin and synthetic-origin participation, content, and information across the internet and digital platforms.The UU Mission will introduce more about the project and provide a better understanding of what we have been building and why.
