책소개

The Ministry of Preaching: Preaching Through Eternity - Faithfulness to God's Word in the Last Days.Fire from the Scroll Series, Volume IIIIn an era marked by diminishing biblical literacy and increasingly fragmented approaches to proclamation, The Ministry of Preaching restores weight, clarity, and theological seriousness to the work of the pulpit. In this third volume of the Fire from the Scroll series, Aaron Michael Roberts offers a rigorous, Scripture-governed vision of preaching rooted in canonical structure rather than cultural technique.Drawing from careful biblical exegesis, Second Temple sources, and the apostolic witness of the New Testament, Roberts argues that preaching is not merely the communication of information but the faithful transmission of God's revealed Word-from the written scroll to a living people. He challenges contemporary homiletics that prioritize relevance or performance over obedience, authority, and formation. At the center of this work is what Roberts describes as the Torah Blueprint-a fivefold rhythm embedded in the books of Moses and fulfilled in the ministry of Christ and the apostles. This framework demonstrates how pastoral, priestly, prophetic, evangelistic, and apostolic dimensions of proclamation function together to form a mature and unified Church. This volume introduces and develops several key theological constructs, including:

The Apostolic Continuum, which traces the continuity of Christ's sending authority through the life of the Church

The Shepherd's Ache, describing the internal priestly burden that precedes faithful proclamation

The Unified Voice, articulating how canonical authority is preserved in preaching across cultures and generations

Grounded in Scripture and informed by ancient Jewish and early Christian sources-including the Dead Sea Scrolls-The Ministry of Preaching is both academically credible and pastorally oriented. It is written for pastors, teachers, and ministry leaders navigating the demands of proclamation in a globalized and often unstable ecclesial context.More than a guide to sermon preparation, this book is a call to recover reverence, density, and faithfulness in handling the Word of God. It invites readers to reclaim preaching as a sacred vocation-one that bears the weight of divine revelation and serves the formation of God's people in every generation.
