T
housands of years ago "latter day" events in the Middle East were predicted and some are in the news today. It is an indisputable fact that Jerusalem is the main focus of Holy Writ and clearly described in Daniel 9:16, 2Chronicles 6:6, Jeremiah 30:7, and many, many more.
"O Lord, ...let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people (the Jews) are become a reproach to all that are about us" (Daniel's prayer, 9:16).
While "end time" corrective events which Jesus foretold concerning Jerusalem are yet to "begin" prior to his "coming" (Luke 21:28), there is still opportunity to obtain "eyes to see" and "ears to hear" concerning the "kingdom of God" of which Jesus so often spoke. It is about this "restored kingdom to Israel" about which Jesus' apostles enquired prior to his ascension (Acts 1:6), and his promised return "to sit upon the throne of his father David" and "judge (rule) the world in righteousness." Notice the correlation between the terms "kingdom of God" and "kingdom to Israel" and ponder why the apostles would have even asked such a question.
This is no small thing. And there are details to be understood which "must" be observed concerning the "restitution of all things" (Acts 3:21) and will be examined herein as seen through the lens of the Hebrew culture in which the Bible was written, even including the promises to "Abraham and his seed," which certainly includes "the land"-- even "forever" (Genesis 13:15).
Two subjects which were explicitly declared by Jesus to be of exacting importance, have often been misconstrued, distorted, or ignored, or perhaps even discarded via pride, and sadly relegated to the "traditions of men." Jesus was quite clear about requirements to enter the coming kingdom of God, saying, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5), and then added a related and familiar statement, "Whosoever believeth (in God's Christ) should not perish, but have everlasting life" (v. 16). These two subjects will be given considerable space herein.
After 2000 years of dispersion, Israel (since 1948), is partially back in the exact same location on Planet Earth about which Jesus prayed. Coincidence? Not likely! Find out why, and how you might participate in what God promised to those who believe in His only begotten son, and indeed "look for him a second time" (Hebrews 9:28).
Certainly, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Read herein how important these words are, and how they may apply to you.
