Janet Burroway is the author of seven novels including "The Buzzards", "Raw Silk" (runner up for the National Book Award), "Opening Nights", and "Cutting Stone". Her "Writing Fiction", now in its seventh edition, is the most widely used creative writing text in the U.S., and a further text, "Imaginative Writing", has recently appeared in its second edition. She is author of a collection of essays, "Embalming Mom", and the editor of the lectures of Robert Olen Butler, From Where You Dream. She is Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor Emerita at the Florida State University in Tallahassee. She divides her time among Tallahassee, London, and Wisconsin.

John Vernon Lord dons many hats including author, illustrator, and teacher. His children's books have been published all over the world in a number of languages. His classic picture book "The Giant Jam Sandwich", with verses by Janet Burroway, has remained in print since its initial publication in 1972 and continues to be loved by children of all ages.
