Kenneth H. J. Gardiner (1932-2011) received his PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 1964, and two years later he joined the Faculty of Asian Studies, the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra as a lecturer in Early Chinese and Korean history. He retired from the position of Senior Lecturer at ANU in 1992.
Sang Hyun KIM (1947-2013) received his PhD from Dongguk University, Seoul and subsequently joined his alma mater as a faculty member. He held various important positions at Dongguk University as a professor of history, Director, Center of Research for Silla Culture and Dean, Faculty of Humanities. He wrote numerous books on various aspects of Korean Buddhism (in Korean), including Huayan Thought in Silla, Wonhyo Seen from the Lens of History, Silla Thought and Culture and A Survey of the History of Korean Buddhism.
Pankaj N. Mohan(1955- ) studied East Asian languages and history at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Peking University, Beijing, Seoul National University, Seoul and the Australian National University, Canberra where he received his Ph.D. degree in East Asian Studies. Having taught various courses in Korean language and history at ANU, the University of Copenhagen and the University of Sydney for nearly two decades, he moved to the Academy of Korean Studies, South Korea as a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of International Korean Studies, (2009-2014). Subsequently he worked as Professor of history, Dean and Interim Vice chancellor of Nalanda (International) University, Rajgir (India).
Editor. Hyun Joo CHOI studied political science and international commerce for her B.A. and M.B.A. Degrees at Chung-ang University and Catholic University, Korea, respectively. Subsequently she developed interest in theology/religious studies. She studied theology at University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and earned her M.A. and PhD degrees in the field of religious studies at the Academy of Korean Studies, Seongnam City, Korea. She taught Korean language and culture at Tashkent State Pedagogical University for two years (1995-6) and Nalanda University, Rajgir (India) for a semester in 2017. As the President of Crossing Boundaries Publications, she intends to forge and promote cross-cultural understanding amongst Asian nations and also between the East and West.
