The ‘Peace Dream Forum’ is a forum for dreaming and sharing peace.
The name conveys our heartfelt hope and action of dreaming and sharing peace and at the same time, creating peace and ‘giving’ to God. The “Peace Dream Forum” was born to take root, expand, and amplify the vision of peaceful reunification as the “Korean Peninsula Community Initiative,” which will be a legacy for future generations of the Korean people. With the declaration of “June 25th as the Day of Peace”, for the first time since the division, Textbook on Peace and Unification was published in five languages that are commonly used around the Korean Peninsula (Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, and Russian). The textbook has two specific audiences and will be available one for church’s use (youths and young adults) and the other for general use. Both versions will have leader’s guide and student’s version. We plan to publish different versions that target more specific audiences: for youths in 2023, for Sunday school in 2024, and for elderly in 2025, counting four years as one cycle. As we continue our endeavors towards peace, it is our hope to discover and nurture peace workers of future generations for Korea and for the world. Rev. Dr. John Higon Eun President and Chairman of The Peace Dream Forum (PDF) Through Textbook on Peace and Unification, we hope that our society will be transformed into a peaceful world that God desires for us through the works of young peace workers who will promote the true meaning of peace. Rev. Dr. Hakjung Kim Chair of the Board of The Christian Broadcasting System(CBS), Senior Pastor at The Dream Methodist Church Through Textbook on Peace and Unification, may the Korean church discover the face of God who is ‘disabled’ for me and for us in the faces of our neighbors who are with disabilities from the division and the Cold War. May the Korean church be an instrument of God’s healing for them just as God did for me and you. I hope that this beginning grows to be a life-peace community that offers helping hands of reconciliation and restoration where there is hurt, conflict, and suffering. Rev. Hong-jung Lee Secretary General and Administrator of The National Council of Churches in Korea (KNCC) May Textbook on Peace and Unification, published for the purpose of forming mutual support and trust among individuals, communities, nations, and humanity, bring peace to North and South Korea and to the world. I hope that churches in Korea and abroad will find this textbook useful in promoting and achieving peace. Rev. Sung-min Park President of The Korean Campus Crusade for Christ (KCCC) |
