Former IOC Vice President Kim Un-yong has been acting brilliantly as a global sports leader since his election as IOC member in 1985. He has served as President of Korean Sports Council and Korean Olympic Committee. He also served as President of General Association of International Sports Federations, Founding President of the World Games, Chairman of IOC Radio & Television commission. He candidate to IOC Presidency as the 1st Asian and he was a prime mover behind Seoul Olympic Games and 2002 FIFA World Cup. He succeeded in bring many important international sport events to Korea, elevating status of Korea at international stage. Joint march of the North and South Korean delegations at the opening of Sydney Olympics received the world applause. Since he assumed the presidency of Korean Taekwondo Association in 1971, he constructed and founded the Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo federations.
