튀빙엔(Tubingen)대학교 철학부 명예교수이다. 클라톤 도시 시라쿠스의 명예시민이자 나폴리 폰타니아나 아카데미 회원이다. 전문분야는 고대철학, 해석학, 윤리학, 미학이다. 대표 저서로는 Arete bei Platon und Aristoteles(1959), Platonismus und hellenistische Philosophie(1964), Integrative Ethik(1995), Platone e i fondamenti della metafisica(2001) 등이 있다.
