로체스터대학 시각문화인류학과 조교수. 뉴욕대학교에서 박사학위를 받았다. 한국의 국제입양에 관한 책 “Adopted Territory : Transnational Korean Adoptees and the Politics of Belonging(2010, Duke University Press)”을 출간했으며, 현재 American Council of Learned Societies/NEH/SSRC International Area Studies의 지원을 받아 한반도
DMZ와 그 생태문화적 가치에 관한 연구를 진행하고 있다. DMZ 관련 연구는 SINO-NK(sinonk.com)에 소개되어 있으며, 레이첼카슨센터 저널에도 실릴 예정이다.
