이화여자대학교 시각정보디자인학과, 동대학원 석사를 거쳐 영국 리즈대학교에서 색채디자인으로 박사 학위를 받았다. 현재 경기대학교 시각정보디자인 전공 조교수로 재직 중이며, 디자인과 소비자 행동을 중심으로 연구 활동을 이어 가고 있다. 다수의 SCIE 논문과 저서 《디자인과 습관》을 집필했다.
