조민재 박사는 1991년에 서울에서 태어나, 1996년 아버지의 유학을 위해 온 가족이 영국으로 갈 때에 함께 영국에 건너가 영국에서 초등학교부터 박사 과정까지 23년간 교육을 받았다. 학부와 대학원에서는 고고학을 전공하였고, ‘독재정권과 문화유산의 관계를 이론적으로 고찰’하여 Authorised Dictatorial Discourse(ADD) 이론을 발표함으로 2019년에 영국 케임브리지대학교에서 박사학위를 취득하였다. 조민재 박사는 현재 서울대학교 아시아연구소 HK연구교수로 아시아의 문화유산과 세계문화유산을 연구하고 있다.

Minjae Zoh was awarded her Ph.D. in Heritage Studies from the University of Cambridge in 2019. Her doctoral dissertation investigated the relationship between dictatorship and heritage, particularly how a 'dictatorial discourse' is implemented during dictatorial regimes. Her former degrees were in Archaeology and Public Archaeology, both obtained from University College of London. Dr. Minjae Zoh is currently a Research Professor at Seoul National University Asia Centre conducting research on Asia's diverse heritage.
