리처드 B. 발도프 주니어(하와이대학교 박사)는 퀸즐랜드 대학교 교육대학의 TESOL 부교수로 국제응용언어학협회(IAAL: International Association of Applied Linguistics) 집행위원이다. 그는 학술지와 책에 다수의 논문을 게재해 왔다. Language Planning and Education in Australasia and the South Pacific ( Multilingual Matters, 1990)의 공동 편집자이자 Viability of Low Candidature LOTE Courses in Universities (DEET, 1995)의 수석 연구자 겸 편집자이며, 로버트 카플란(Robert B. Kaplan)과는 Language Planning from Practice to Theory (Multilingual Matters, 1997)와 Language and Language-in-Education Planning in the Pacific Basin (Kluwer, 2003)을 함께 저술했다. 그는 학술지 Current Communications in Language Planning의 수석 편집위원이며, ‘다국어 문제 총서 시리즈’(Multilingual Matters Series), ‘언어 계획과 정책’(Language Planning and Policy) 부문 도서 6권의 공동 편집자이기도 하다.
