매사추세츠주 보스턴 출신의 시 번역가이다. UC버클리와 시카고대학교에서 학업을 마친 뒤, 폴란드 현대 시단에 대한 관심으로 인해 그는 여러 해 동안 폴란드에 거주했다. 그의 폴란드 시 번역은 여러 간행물과 Viscera: Eight Voices from Poland(2024) 합본에 실렸다. 최근 현대 한국 시에 관심을 돌리고 있다. 2022년과 2023년에 각각 김이듬의 『히스테리아』와 김혜순의 『죽음의 자서전』을 폴란드어로 공동 번역·출간했으며, 2024년 폴란드 오솔리네움 시 번역상 최종 후보에 올랐다. 현재 대한민국 서울에 거주한다.
Lynn Suh is a poetry translator originally from Boston, MA. After completing his studies at U.C. Berkeley and the University of Chicago, he spent many years living in Poland due to his interest in the country’s contemporary poetry scene. His translations of Polish poetry have appeared in various publications as well as the compendium Viscera: Eight Voices from Poland (2024). Recently, he has turned his attention towards contemporary Korean poetry. He co-translated and published Kim Yideum’s Histeria and Kim Hyesoon’s Autobiography of Death in Polish in 2022 and 2023 respectively, the latter of which was shortlisted for the Ossolineum Prize in Poetry Translation (Poland) in 2024. He lives in Seoul, South Korea.
