데니스 와스쿨(Dennis Waskul)은 만카토에 있는 미네소타 대학교 사회학 교수이다. 이 책 외에도 Ghostly Encounters: The Hauntings of Everyday Life, Self-Games and Body-Play라는 책을 썼고, The Supernatural in History, Society, and Culture Symbol Interaction 등 여러 책을 편집했다. 그는 몸, 감각, 섹슈얼리티, 컴퓨터 매개 커뮤니케이션의 사회학에 대한 많은 논문을 발표했다.
