프로테스탄트의 신앙생활과 분리될 수 없었던 시편을 가지고 쓴 많은 작품들을 2장의 CD에 담았다. 2장을 합하면 총 39트랙에 걸쳐 담겨져 있는데, 멀리 마틴 루터의 16세기 작품에서부터 이 음반의 지휘자인 니어리의 20세기의 작품까지 시편 8에서 150까지의 구절로 쓴 작품들이 망라된 것. 대부분 2분, 3분 정도의 짧은 곡들이지만, 종교인이라면 하나하나의 구절과 함께 신앙고백을 하는 마음으로 들을 수 있겠고, 종교인이 아니더라도 자신의 마음을 차분히 점검해볼 수 있겠다. 1990년 런던의 웨스트민스터 사원에서 합창단이 장중한 오르간 반주에 맞춰 노래했다. |
