BanGo, the primal ancestor of the human race, was born into the darkness of the universe. One day, he awoke and was disgusted with the darkness surrounding him. He hacked away at the darkness, eventually splitting it into the sky and the earth. he used his body as a pillar to keep them apart. However, magma welling forth from the ground was causing him much pain. Despite this arduous trial, he continued with his task. Aeons later, he lay dying. Slowly, parts of his body were transformed into natural elements like wind, thunder, rivers, grass and rocks. BanGo's entire body thus turned into materials for the earth as we know it today.

인류의 시조인 반고(盤古)는 우주의 어둠 안에서 태어났다. 어느 날, 잠에서 깨어난 그는 자신을 둘러싸고 있는 어둠으로 인해 역겨움을 느꼈다. 반고는 어둠을 향해 도끼를 휘둘러 마침내 어둠을 하늘과 땅으로 갈랐다. 그는 자신의 몸을 기둥으로 사용해서 하늘과 땅을 분리시켰다. 그러나 땅속에서 솟아오르는 용암 때문에 그는 몹시 고통스러웠다. 이러한 시련에도 그는 이 일을 계속했다. 영겁(永劫)의 세월이 흐른 뒤에 반고는 죽은 채로 있었다. 그의 신체 기관은 각각 바람, 천둥, 강, 풀, 그리고 돌과 같은 자연의 한 부분으로 서서히 변해갔다. 그렇게 해서 오늘날 우리가 알고 있는 것처럼, 반고의 온몸은 지구를 이루는 각각의 요소가 되었다.
