Divide the class into pairs-try to get people to work with somebody they have not worked with before if possible. 2. Explain that they each have a picture of a big block of twenty flats, but the pictures are from different times of day and there are a number of differences between them. By asking each other questions they are going to try to find all the differences. 3. Give out the handouts and tell students ot keep theirs a secret from their partner. Revise the present continuous(form and use) with a quick sketch on the board of somebody singing at their window and asking What's she going? Is she singing? 4. Give them about ten minutes to find as many differences as they can. At this stage, do not say how many differences there are. 5. Ask how many differences they have found. If necessary, tell them there are eight and give further time for them to be found. 6. Students then ompare their pictures and see if they were correct. 7. As a follow-up activity, give each pair one of the characters. They try and imagine as much as they can about this person and then present a brief description to the class. Avaration on this would be to give the same person to several groups and then compare what they came up with. p.5 |
