가정의학과 의사이자 심리학자이며 『남자 아이 여자 아이』 등을 펴낸 베스트셀러 저자인 그는 국립단성공립교육협회(NASSPE, National Association for Single Sex Public Education)를 창립했고, 현재 그곳의 이사로 일하고 있다. <미국 심리학·행동신경과학지> <미국의학협회 저널> 등 유명한 여러 학회지에 글을 발표한 저술가이며, 인기 있는 강사로서 2007년 세계 각지에서 50여 회 이상 강연회를 개최했고, CNN, PBS, 폭스 뉴스, NPR 등 많은 방송 프로그램에 출연하여 미국 전역의 부모들에게 강한 영향을 미쳤다. 그는 현재 메릴랜드 주 몽고메리 카운티에 살고 있다.

He is founder and executive director of the National Association for Single Sex Public Education in Montgomery County, Maryland (NASSPE). Dr. Sax's scholarly work has been published in a wide variety of prestigious journals, including American Psychologist, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Journal of the American Medical Association. He is a popular speaker and has been a featured guest on CNN, PBS, Fox News, NPR's "Talk of the Nation," "The Today Show," and many other programs. He lives in Montgomery County, Maryland.
